The innovation journey

Innovation is at the core of Veolia’s strategy and culture towards building and shaping the circular economy: to manufacture green products, to produce green energy and to develop bespoke solutions for our clients.

We encourage our employees to support us in our objectives by encouraging them to think of their own innovative ideas to develop bespoke solutions for customer challenges.

All Veolia employees can submit their ideas; to start with ideas are discussed in informal innovation workshops, ideas are then carried forward into the Innovation Den where a formal pitching process takes place in front of our Chief Executive Officer, Executive Committee Members and customers. Approved ideas then gain mentoring and support to test and then launch that innovation product into one of our main business streams.

Cyclone TFR

Cyclone Traffic Film Remover (TFR)TM turns excess washing up liquid which would otherwise be discarded, into a commercial truck, heavy plant and loading equipment wash. Its efficient cleaning action swiftly breaks down the build up of road traffic film, to leave the vehicle's exterior clean.
Washing up liquid has a sell by date, which once passed makes the product unsellable. To give this detergent a new life, a recycling business at Norwood has been established; here every litre of waste detergent is used to create approximately seven litres of Cyclone TFR.

To trial 25 litres at half price, or to order Cyclone TFR in 1,000, 200 or 25 litres, contact Cyclone UK outlining:
  • The volume and frequency of Cyclone TFR that you require
  • Your location
  • Your fleet's specifications

Newlife paints

Newlife Paints produce a premium grade emulsion from leftover, water-based paint.

Paint is difficult to recycle, as a result millions of litres are sent to landfill or for incineration every year. Newlife Paints use paint that would otherwise be destined for disposal and convert it into a range of 28 premium coloured emulsions, containing at least 50% recycled content.

How do Newlife Paints do it?
  1. Waste paint is collected and sorted
  2. Paint is blended and treated
  3. Paint is tested and filtered to ensure a high-quality standard
  4. Paint is packaged ready for sale
